Arena Crossing

Challenge

High profile project adjacent to a major sports and convention venue in
downtown Columbus, Ohio. Owner wanted a cost-competitive solution
for increasing the building density that was not possible with woodframing.

· Developer had never worked with cold -formed steel and needed a complete Design-Build solution.
· Due to their limited experience with structural framing applications using cold-formed steel, the city building department needed to be part of a design proposal early in the process.

Our Solution

· Dietrich Building Systems provided the expertise in structural framing solutions with cold -formed steel required for this project.
A key point for the owner as well as city officials.
· We designed and engineered two separate towers, one at 6-stories and the other at 7-stories – delivering on the requirement for added building density in addition to the benefits of:
A lightweight, non-combustible, and mold resistant structure
· To assist in meeting the project schedule, we brought in a quality framing contractor who embraced our system in rapid fashion.
Proving the simplicity of our proprietary framing technology.
